The purpose of the Prime Time program is to serve as an extended family, offering a place of love, belonging and safety for senior citizens on the city’s south side. The Prime Timers meet from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday and 9-11 on Saturday. A breakfast snack is provided as the seniors gather after which the seniors play games of dominoes, Uno or Bingo. The seniors can also shop in Skyline’s Clothing Closet where they can choose from donated clothing or knick-naks in a deeply discounted thrift-store setting. Some choose to sit quietly reading the paper or doing a crossword puzzle. Skyline also presents programming that is of interest to the group. These have included Social Security, reverse mortgage, laughter yoga and musical groups. Various volunteer groups prepare, deliver, and serve hot lunch at 11:30. All meals and activities are free of charge.
